Estée Lauder 25 Years of Breast Cancer Awareness

Commorative Journal

The Project

This is one of many Estee Lauder projects over the last couple of years

They wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the pink ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) campaign with a journal to explain the achievements of the BCA foundation in the Asia Pacific region (APAC).

The brief was to create something that was unique and broke away from their beauty and fashion format, whilst maintaining the essence of the Estée Lauder signature.

The journal would individually show the achievements of 13 countries with a foreword from the president, so sign off was from the top.

The creative bit

It was decided to adopt an editorial style with a double page spread for each of the countries to tell their own story.

It was an enormous challenge to obtain the content and images in the appropriate format from each of the countries and required a significant amount of research and coordination, as well as design.

Each country would have its own individual identity, whilst stylistically under the Estée Lauder brand.

The outcome

Having been given a creative free rein the client loved the approach and the design. It resulted in as a 34 page journal that delivered the Pink Ribbon Campaign message with poise and style.

The good the bad & the Pink

It was great to work on a project for print, as a slight departure from the usual focus on digital projects.

It was highly rewarding to create something unique and distinctive for such a world renowned brand .

Having researched and read through so much information about the work of the BCA foundation, its importance and awareness for the treatment of breast cancer made a huge impact.
